Description

A madder silk tie, printed in Macclesfield using traditional techniques. It is patterned with alternating floral motifs in navy, ochre and olive, each with a pop of red at the centre. Madder gives the colours a soft, warm depth rarely found in glossier weaves, while the bold ground colour and autumnal print combination give the tie real character.

Cut to a versatile 8.5cm blade width, the tie is hand-cut on the bias and hand-slipped for a natural drape and gentle give at the knot, and hand-made throughout in England to Budd's exacting standards.

Our Workshop

We make our bespoke and made to measure shirts at our workshop in Andover, under the guidance of Di Bainbridge and Gwenda Witts. They joined the company in 1969 and 1976 respectively and oversee the team as they produce our shirts, dress shirts and nightwear. Their approach is fastidious and reassuring, particularly when sat at our finishing boards where they inspect each shirt before it is pressed and packed up.
